Meet Our Team
Our dedicated team of professionals, many with decades of experience in the woven polypropylene industry, work tirelessly to deliver exceptional products and services. We understand that every project is unique, and we strive to provide tailored solutions that meet our customers’ specific needs.
While PolyStar operates as a unified team, we also recognise the importance of specialised sub-teams:
Supervisory Team:
Our dedicated supervision team, easily identifiable in their red uniforms, forms the backbone of our operations. They meticulously plan, lead, organise, and control daily activities across both our factory locations.
They ensure production targets are clearly communicated, consistently monitored, and efficiently met, working closely with each department to maintain a seamless workflow and optimise productivity.
Tapeline/Extrusion:
Our Tapeline Operators, sporting royal blue uniforms, are responsible for the crucial process of extruding high-quality polypropylene tapes.
They expertly manage the extrusion process, producing tapes in a variety of deniers, widths, and colours according to specific customer orders.
Loom Converters:
The heart of our weaving operations lies with our Loom Convertors, easily spotted in their navy-blue uniforms and distinctive printed jackets.
They expertly set up the looms for each production run, meticulously loading the correct tapes, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring all parameters align with customer specifications.
Loom Operators:
Our Loom Operators, wearing navy blue uniforms, then take over, operating the looms and constantly monitoring the fabric quality.
They diligently change weft and warp bobbins as needed, adhering to the QC job card to meet customer requirements and maintain consistent quality.
Quality Control Team:
Our Quality Control team, easily identified in their white uniforms, plays a crucial role in ensuring the superior quality of our products.
They conduct rigorous testing and inspections at every stage of the production process, from raw materials to finished goods. Their meticulous attention to detail and adherence to strict quality standards guarantee that our customers receive products of the highest calibre.
Coating and Cuttex:
Our Coating and Cuttex Operators, easily identified in their orange uniforms, form a crucial part of our finishing department. The Coating Operators apply specialised coatings and laminations to fabrics based on customer specifications, using two different types of coating machines to enhance fabric properties like water resistance and durability. Meanwhile, the Cuttex Operators expertly manage the cuttex machine, slitting tubular fabric into single or flat sheets, folding fabric as needed and utilising the ultrasonic cutter for precise fabric manipulation. Together, they ensure our fabrics are finished to the highest standards and ready for diverse applications.
General Workers:
Our General Workers, easily recognised in their green uniforms, are essential to maintaining a clean and organised work environment. They are responsible for the upkeep of the factory, ensuring continuous housekeeping, and maintaining the cleanliness of ablution facilities and the canteen.
Many are also cross trained to operate certain machines under supervision, providing valuable support to other departments.
Maintenance Team:
Our skilled Maintenance team, dressed in black uniforms, works tirelessly to keep our machinery running smoothly and efficiently.
They are responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting, ensuring minimal downtime and maximising productivity. Their expertise is crucial to the continuous operation of our production facilities.
Stores/Warehouse Team:
Our Stores/Warehouse team, wearing beige uniforms, plays a critical role in managing the flow of materials and finished goods. They receive and record all finished rolls from production, meticulously organising the warehouse for efficient storage and retrieval.
They are responsible for preparing delivery notes, loading and dispatching orders to customers, receiving masterbatches, raw materials and consumables from suppliers and issuing spares to various departments.
